Slow motion with respect to the stars - do you mean the apparent movement of the stars in the sky through the year?

That is caused by Earth's orbit around the sun - as we orbit the sun the stars appear to move a bit in the sky since we are looking at them from a slightly-different vantage point in our orbit around the sun.

Possibly you refer to the slower motion of outer orbital bodies to our star?

The rotation of the Earth and it's orbit around the Sun.

Distance.

The same thing that makes cars on a freeway as seen from a plane at 10,000 feet seem like they are hardly moving at all.
