DO NOT use 80w gear oil !!!
Use quality brand name 4 stroke motor oil.
The CR's run hot, so it's best to use 20w50 - cause it's thicker than 10w40 and won't thin out as fast.
You can use 10w40 in very cold weather, or change it often during the summer months.

Does the coolant circulate using an impeller driver off the gearbox? If so it might be leaking through the impeller shaft gasket. That's the only way coolant can leak into the gearbox.
