If they're not raped, & they have sex consensually without any birth control methods? I hear that all the time about teen pregnancies. & some with adults too.

i really dont want to hear this its your fault that you got pregnant as a teen.i am tired of hearing that. there are many teens that are BETTER parents than adults so thanks for including the "and adults"to your question.i am 19 just turned 19 last week and i am 5.5 months pregnant.i dont look at it as an accident or a mistake bc i was having sex.accident means you werent expecting to get pregnant,i was on BC and we used condoms and i only have on ovary that is higher than it is supposed to be.but here i am pregnant.it just happens when God wants it to is what i honestly think.you ever notice how there are sluts walking around not using any protection and DONT get pregnant and then there are people who sleep with ONE guy and gets pregnant?i think it could be bc God doesnt see the "sluts" ready to be parents just yet but maybe He does the others

If you are raped, they will give you a morning-after pill in the hospital. If you don't take it, and get pregnant, it's not an accident, it's your choice.
Unless you were given, without your knowledge, a memory-loss drug and didn't even know you were raped until you got pregnant (or an STD), that'd be an accident. Also, if you were using a form of chemical birth control correctly, or had your tubes tied, but got pregnant anyway, that's an accident.
If your weren't using any birth control, missed your dosage, or only used a condom, (which have to used with a spermicide to be very effective) but you have sex anyway, that's NOT an accident. (And saying it doesn't make it so!) It may be a mistake, (You planned the act, but not the outcome.) but it's not an accident. An accident is something you have no control over.

Well some people don't use birth control, and they use a natural method where they know what time of the month they are most fertile. Accidental in this case is meant in the same sense as the word unintentional. As in "I didn't intend to run the person over it was an accident" or "I didn't intend to get pregnant, it was an accident". It's not something you meant to occur based on whatever precautions you were taking.

Often by accident means birth control failed, or they conceived during using the withdrawal method because the sperm still entered. Most forms of birth control are not 100% reliable, so accidents do happen, the individuals did everything they thought they could to prevent it but it happened anyway

Accidents happen all the time and I think it just means they didn't plan it to happen. Some people just think they're invincible or they're simply not the brightest light bulbs in the box! I don't think most teens that have sex and get pregnant are mature or responsible enough to truly know the consequences of their actions...maybe that's the accident. Or its just easier to say accident then I was irresponsible?

You know what that happened to me. I was 16 and my parents never really talked to me about that stuff. So when I got a boyfriend and he wanted to have sex I did not think about it. I think that some people have it wrong that you can only get pregnant sometimes in the month. Which is really not true, from what I can figure from mine it was that time of the month, when it happened. It is not that I did not care about myself I cared more about making my boyfriend happy, he did not want to use condoms. By the way if I guy says he won't have sex with a condom for what ever reason, you say ok then we won't have sex. It is that simple. Oh and some adults are just stupid, sometimes more so that teenagers.

yes i agree ppl dont get pregnant by accident and they take that chance with unprotected sex, but dont be quick to judge everyone and i mean everyone has done things without thinking about it first and you then turn around and say yea i **** up but I am going to move on and deal with it like my pregnancy wasnt plan and yeah i admit i had unprotected sex. But think about it a person doesnt like their mistakes or whatever you wanna call it thrown back in their face all the time especially when they already feel stupid and know that, they did do wrong without thinking. Yeah yeah ppl know they did wrong but dont throw it in their face all the time ok, like everyone knows the truth does hurts but let that person deal with it without you making them feel like they are the stupidest person around.

I got pregnant with my son by accident, but I was using Ortho-Tricyclen birth control pill... that's why my pregnancy was an accident...
That accident turned out to be the greatest gift I could ever receive...

I agree. I guess maybe lack of knowledge! I have gotten pregnant two times while on birth control... I guess that is an accident. but a very pleasant accident!! No regrets here!!

It's about a lack of education usually. Especially with the younger generations. Or, it's denial.
There are no accidents in my opinion. People just need to realize that if they have sex, they could potentially get pregnant.
An unfortunate blind-side that usually comes after the fact.
