Wonderful, intelligent man, unfortunately he was used by the administration to sell the War in Iraq. He did the right thing by getting out when he did. He knew the war was wrong and tried to convince Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc of that, to no avail. They should have listened to him, as well as Eric Shinseki and others.

Powell was the best person in the great "unite-er"'s original cabinet. I don't think he ever believed in the war. However, being a military man that was so used to following orders he went along with the selling of the war to the American people. Even to the point of lying. I believe if Powell would have went before the American people immediately after he resigned & leveled with the country he might, I say, might have done alot to either stop or at least shortened this fiasco in Iraq. A majority of the people believed in Colon Powell.

He should pronounce his name Col-in not colon! He is a good man who sold out to the neo-cons in the Bush administration. He should never have given that pro-Iraq invasion speech written for him by the neo-con propaganda minister Karl Gustav Rove. I lost a lot of respect for him then. He should have gotten out sooner.

Bad move Colon. You could have been the first black president.

He should have bailed sooner than he did but its good he did. he also need to stop pronouncing his name "Cole-on" and pronounce it "Cole-in". No one wants to be called "colon".

Overrated. He gets all positive ink only because his skin is the right hue. I find him mediocre both as a military man and politician.
