What is the best way to get rid of them besides the "Do Not Call List"?

I told one once that I couldn't talk because the police were drawing a chalk outline around a body in the living room. They hung up real quick.

I they sound American, I either listen and say no thanks or hang up. If they sound foreign, I be as big as jerk as I can, all rude and mean. American telemarketers are just people trying to do their job often at only minimum wage, but the ones from India working for 3 dollars a day are taking American jobs!

There are two ways.
#1. Start crying and tell them lots of made up personal problems.
OR
#2. Answer the phone Smith's Family Mortuary, how may we be of service? in a very dreary tone.

would you believe that at the end of this year the ban on telemarketers will come to an end!! my way of getting rid of them is to simply hang up in their ears!

I usually just hang up on them. Eventually they stop calling.

tell them you are on the do not call list - then tell them to take you off their list
