I installed the memory correctly I think, When I tired to boot the computer , I got only a black screen. I do not know what I did wrong. I could not even turn it off unless I unplugged the unit. What is wrong with the computer. The book said it had the capacity of 4 GB in this computer, an I attempted to take this computer to its maximum ram memory. What could have happened to my computer at least this computer is still under warranty, should I send it bac to Toshiba to further help me out with the problem with my computer.

You did take the battery out of the unit before replacing the ram? If not, you may have cooked your motherboard. Regardless, the advise to put back in the original ram and see what happens, needs to be your first action.

No, it won't. That's desktop memory. Look on Newegg for notebook memory (it has its own category). According to Crucial: Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-6400,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.*

You may have the wrong modules, take them out and leave the orginal memory in the system and start it up. If it comes up then power it down and try 1 of the modules, see it it will start. If not try the other one, if both fail retrun them and then go to a site like Kinston and order your memory there.

Hope this helps...

Probably the insertion of your RAM can affect the boot of the computer, if you put it tight and correctly, nothing bad will happen. try again or contact the retailer.
