Someone who is such a coward and a jerk, that they can't "man up" and TELL you that they want to go out and have a few drinks with their friends. NOOOOOOOOOO, they have to pick a fight with you, to make it look like they have a good reason for leaving.
I don't have a problem with him going out occasionally, but God!!
Friggin' grow a pair, and be honest!

Racist Answer Man, I'm not saying that I don't contribute to the problems around here. I believe that both parties in a relationship need their freedom sometimes, I just wish that he would be honest when he needs his.
I'm not the one with the problem, HE is.

It sounds like he may be following a possible paternal pattern. Maybe his father did that to his mother for his excuse to go to the bar.
But I would be more concerned with the deceiving little games he seems to be playing. With his starting arguments, he may enjoy the confrontation and the easy excuses it creates. You sound like you may be stuck with a habitual liar who may be borderline alcoholic.
Seek counseling for both of you. Maybe an extra session or four for him.
Good Luck!

Yup! Man up, it will never happen. It makes him feel better about what ever it is he is doing when he goes...so you can tell him "hey you don't have to pick a fight with me so that you can go out- just go have a good time" Don't let him control you - that's what you are doing when someone has the power to get you pissed - take the power back!

That does sound pretty immature&sissy!! What would he say if, after the fight, you told him NO you're not going. I wonder if he'd have the kahonies, to go any way!! Is this the way his dad or brothers acted w/their ladies!! Sounds like my x-brothernlaw, he was/is such a jerk!!

Yeah.
I suppose living with you hasn't contributed to this behavior any.
It's nice that YOU don't have a problem with him going out occasionally. Why don't you tell him to 'man up'.
I'm sure that once you explain yourself he'll be more than happy to walk out the door on a regular basis.

No. I did have one that would wait until I go to work and sneak away from home as if I was holding him there. He would leave and sometimes come back a week later. The last time he tried that stunt, he came back to a house with all of his things NOT packed, BUT gone!

Yes I've been with a person like that. The relationship lasted exactly 6 days. On the 7th I wised up and dumped his butt for someone mature enough to tell me what they wanted and needed.
Life's too short to be playing games like that.

Oh yeah! Well put! Exactly "man up".
It's funny. This is when you must decide am I with a man or a little boy. How deep is your honesty problem? HELLO!
Now I can go out with my friends for a couple hours too.
WOO HOO!

Yah, he needs to get his balls out of your purse and bluntly say I am going here or there with the guys and when I get home we are going to tear this bed up, and maybe the one in the other room.when a man does this that tells me he is unhappy and may be wanting to mess someones eleses bed up.

my ex-fiance was just like that.Unfortunately I found out he was really a sweetheart who was so quilty of his other serious relationship that the sense of guilt it caused when he lied about going to see his friends, made him erractic.
Since now that I gave him his freedom, we never fight . In fact I now pity all his other women and present wife. He is a philandeer by nature but hate to decieve anyone so he puts up a fight to assuage his guilt.
good luck!
