BCE stands for Before Common Era, and AD stands for Anno Domini.
There is no year 0, but rather the AD time frame starts with the year 1, which would have been 2006 years ago. All of these labels are labeling the same calendar system, it's just some people refer to them in terms of the life of Christ, whereas others prefer to take the religious connotation away, even though the calendar system is still based on Christianity.

BC and AD were the old ones used to signify dates. They centered around the traditional dates for Jesus' birth. Contrary to popular belief it is NOT before christ and after death, but latin for in the year of our lord (at least for AD) don't remember BC. However, more recently, it has been changed to BCE (before common era) and CE (common era) so as to steer away from such a christ centered society, However the dates do not change. Both are acceptable but in newer literature you will find BCE and CE used

yes it is. BCE is the way to say BC with a non religous tone, the same thing with CE and towards AD.
BCE and CE are the proper ways to denote time in the english system, but BC and AD work pretty well

A.D. does not standn for "after death".
It stands for anno domini - the year of our lord.
I don't pay any attention to the BCE, CE stuff, which was created recently to appease the jews.

There is no year zero because the Romans had no concept of that number and they were the ones who originated the calendar we use to this day.

originally, those terms were based on what was assumed as Jesus' birth.
But scientists have discovered he was born at least 4 years before that.
there is no year zero.
that's like a year where nothing existed.
