ya so ive asked for recommendations multiple times on yahoo answers but all i ever get is mediocre responses. I found Tengen toppa gurren lagann all on my own and it kicks so much *** but noone recommended it even though i asked for action all i got was crap like elfen lied. Shame on you all go watch Tengen toppa gurren lagann so you know at least one good one.

Well, the major reason no one recommended Gurren Lagann to you was because when you asked five months ago, it hadn't even been airing yet... So even though the series is awesome with a badass like Kamina, no one would have been able to tell you about it then.
Of course, the overwhelming majority of yahoo still hasn't heard of Gurren Lagann, so perhaps I am giving them too much credit.

I notice that when people ask for anime the most popular answers seems to coincide with what is showing on the Anime Channel.
Whenever a new anime shows up on the anime channel, snap, there will be a question online like "where can I watch blank online".
Elfen Lied is showing right now so maybe that's why you got that one. (So is GANTZ by the way)
If you want better suggestions, try going to Yahoo international, to a asian site and see if you get any different answers.

im not sure, i get elfen lied a lot too, but have never watched it
watch FLCL, crazy show with lots of action and comedy that will leave you in a "what did i just watch?..." mood
