The French and Indian Wars had these effects (among others):
1. It cost the British a lot of money.
2. It gave some colonials military experience when their militias fought with the British or when some of them fought in the British Army.
3. The British became more hands on with their colonies.
Each effect had direct causes to the American Revolution. In the same order as above, they are:
1. The English needed to both pay for the war and field a military force in the colonies to prevent a future war with the French and/or the Indians. The mistake they made at this point was not to just tell the colonies how much their portion of the costs would be. Had they done that, the colonies would have raised their own taxes and not felt like a foreign power was imposing taxes on them.
2. The experience of the colonial military leaders, like Washington, gave the colonials much needed direct knowledge of military matters. This translated into the confidence to think they could hold out militarily until the British left.
3. The British had pretty much left the colonies on their own until the French and Indian Wars. They finally realized what a prize they had and then got more involved in colonial matters. This led to the British appointing Governors and other officials. The colonies felt they were losing power and that the British were meddling. This led to bad feelings and resistance, which the British answered with more controls, which led to revolution.

Well after the F.I. war the british tightened the reigns on the colonies (to pay for the war) which forced the americans to rise up and start the A.R. war.

The colonists saw that the British could be beaten in combat, the guerrilla warfare that the Indians used beat the British organized army, and this lead to the Revolutionary War. The colonists saw that the "almighty" British could be beaten so it gave them the idea that they could beat them.

the FRENCH were itching to get back at the BRITISH for pushing them out of their holdings in the new world.
the INDIANS were, just losers all around. no matter who they sided with, the EUROPEAN countries just drew up new treaties and, the INDIANS, lost more land each time.
