Flames Fan, you need to read the question, it simply says a 'team' that is no longer in existence. Doesn't say anything about franchise, or city, etc.

It simply says team.

And from an NHL perspective, the Montreal Maroons are defunct as a team, and a franchise.

Victoria Cougars - 1924-25

The Montreal Marrons doesnt really count because montreal still has a franchise, Victoria on the other hand no longer has a franchise available in the NHL.

Boo, Flames Fan...! The Maroons collapsed because the owners had both them and the Habs, so one of them had to go. Honestly, I don't know the answer to the question, just felt the need to tell him off. lol
