http://science.howstuffworks.com/deja-vu.htm
I get Deja Vu anywhere, anytime, some from familiar occurences, alot of times not tho. I have always gotten Deja Vu. When I was younger I would get Deja Vu that would lead into Prognition. Not very much, like enough for a couple of sentences to be spoken, or a few actions. Then I would get it so I would think something was going to happen, but it never did. Now I get it so that I have Deja Vu that I have had Deja Vu of what is happening and that I either say something about it or not. I have tried doing what I saw, and I have tried not doing it. Either way It never goes the way I saw. Now, please remain respectful and serious because I am quite so, I have Deja Vu of Deja Vu of Deja Vu. It is so hard to grasp, but it is the only way I can say it. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia in the later part of my life, but have been told my symptoms are not the same as normal ones because I knew it wasn't real while it happened and after.

The phenomenon is rather complex, and there are many different theories as to why deja vu happens. Swiss scholar Arthur Funkhouser suggests that there are several "deja experiences" and asserts that in order to better study the phenomenon, the nuances between the experiences need to be noted. In the examples mentioned above, Funkhouser would describe the first incidence as deja visite ("already visited") and the second as deja vecu ("already experienced or lived through").

As much as 70 percent of the population reports having experienced some form of deja vu. A higher number of incidents occurs in people 15 to 25 years old than in any other age group.

Deja vu has been firmly associated with temporal-lobe epilepsy. Reportedly, deja vu can occur just prior to a temporal-lobe seizure. People suffering a seizure of this kind can experience deja vu during the actual seizure activity or in the moments between convulsions.

Since deja vu occurs in individuals with and without a medical condition, there is much speculation as to how and why this phenomenon happens. Several psychoanalysts attribute deja vu to simple fantasy or wish fulfillment, while some psychiatrists ascribe it to a mismatching in the brain that causes the brain to mistake the present for the past. Many parapsychologists believe it is related to a past-life experience. Obviously, there is more investigation to be done.

I also have had flashes of deja vu. Sometimes, I would first see it in my dreams. Then when I'm walking down the sidewalk BAM...i get the same image I saw in my dream, but now in real life, right in front of me. It may last for only a fraction of a second to 5 sec. One time, I dreamt of a guy wearing a wierd hat bent over a crib talking to a baby with another 4 people around him dressed in black. Nothing to serious. But then a year later. I saw my vision come true. Could it be coincidence? It is mostly little things like that.

There has been no evidence about what or what not deja vu is. But I read somewhere, and I think this is the best answer for it. I wish I could give credit to who came up with this. This professor thought that it was the thought was passing from short term memory to long term memory. So it resides in both places. Hence the experience of deja vu...But there is nothing concrete about what it truly is.
