Why does everybody hate Chicago?

Why would anybody hate the Blackhawks? It's not like they are going to be beating up anyone's favorite team.
Better question, why does Chicago media ignore the White Sox and Blackhawks but treat the Cubs and Bears like they 're going to win something? (MVP 1000)

I was living in Chicago for the past two years. Apparently, Chicago is rated the number 1 sports city in America. However, the fans there are horrible sports fans. Coming from Pittsburgh, everyone (and I mean everyone and their grandma) loves and breathes their sports teams, especially the Steelers. Some fans in Chicago love the Cubs and hate the Sox, like the Bears only when they are doing well, same with the Bulls, and don't even know that they have a hockey team. The Bears will win a few games, the fans will think that Rex Grossman is the next Joe Montana. Then they will lose one game and they will start proclaiming that they need a new quarterback. It goes in cycles. They only watch their teams when they are doing well most of the time. The city basically runs on trend. If the Cubs are doing well, everyone will go to the games, sporting Cubs apparel, just to go for fun, without knowing much about their team. If anything upsets me the most with regards to sports, it is when people all of a sudden start taking part in a teams success only when they are experiencing success, not knowing anything about how they achieved that success or experiencing the team's rise to success. Otherwise known as the band-wagon.
Anyways, pertaining to hockey, my favorite sport. The Blackhawks are much improved this year and will be one of the surprise teams. They will not be a force and probably wont make the playoffs, but they'll do much better than last year. The other surprise teams will be the Panthers and Capitals. The Avalanche will return to the powerful presence they've been.

I think more people hate the Blackhawks owners thatn the team itself. As they are the ones whom have made a mess of things.

Everybody doesn't. That said, most people DO hate Chicago's owner. Why? Because he's a greedy jerk that tanks his team to make money and doesn't let them be shown on local television.
