Crosby and Ovechkin are not top 5 complete. They do not yet have the defensive skills you need to be in the N.H.L

I'd go with Martin Brodeur, Vincent Lecavalier, Joe Sakic, Jaromir Jagr, and Niklas Lidstrom...
They all have exemplary careers; and are about as good now as they ever were except for being somewhat slower due to age.
Crosby is a great player, but far from being complete. He needs a few more years to reach his full potential.

When Ovechkin and Crosby start killing penalties on a regular basis, I'll consider them. crosby needs to get the Face Off % above 50% too (49.8 last year, 45.5 the year before)

1. Crosby - he will start killing penalties as well this season
2. Peter Forsberg - does he count?
3. Jerome Iginla
4. Alexander Ovechkin - this guy can hit as well, not the greatest team player though
5. Vincent Lecavalier - still haven't seen his best yet

Thornton, Crosby, Iginla, Lecavalier and Sakic. Honourable mention to Alfredsson, Gagne (underrated I think-great defensive player and offensively gifted) and Ovechkin (still lacking defensive end smarts)
I don't think goalies can qualify as "complete players".
