I am interested in starting my own clothing line, which I will sell online. Are there copywrites on fabrics that are sold at stores like Joann? Can I take any fabric, sew it into an outfit and put my brand on it? I have researching everywhere for an answer and I can not find any.

Anything with a licensing agreement is off limits to make and sell.

This would be any Disney or other cartoon characters, any football or baseball logo/image printed on fabric, anything recognizeable as belonging to someone else. You need special permission to use them for reselling. The only reason these are available in the store is for 'personal use' where you only make one and use that. For reselling, you aren't allowed to use those kinds of prints.

Anything else though, is ok.
