I think it depends on the economic condition of the country and the circumstances surrounding the 'war' in Iraq.

IF the Bush administration believes it needs to continue its insane, unjustified, illegal, unconstitutional, immoral 'war' it might very well stage another 'terrorist attack' (this time in the Midwest, perhaps Chicago or St. Louis). Bush will be ordered to declare martial law, claiming that a change in administration would not be in the best interests of the country. Since Bush has voided the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, this will be easier to do because he is no longer required to get Congressional approval - indeed, Bush no longer doesn't even have to TELL Congress that he is declaring martial law.

On the other hand, IF it appears that the nation is about to go into a deep economic depression shortly after Bush leaves office, you'll see a mediocre, half-hearted attempt to win in the '08 elections. Republicans will let Democrats 'win big' (knowing that a gullible public always blames the party in office for whatever happens on 'their watch'). In that way, Republicans can come back strong in 2012 with promises to get the country out of its recession and revitalize the economy. -RKO- 09/21/07

Well I hope not that is a pretty pathetic question to ask just so the GOP,can win in 2008 that is not going to happen no matter what happens do u really think this country is going to put another Republican, into the White House after eight years of that knuckle headed fool r-u- serious.
And since none of us has a crystal ball n cannot see into the future we can't tell what may happen in 08,by way of terrorism but one thing is for sure no GOP,will get into the White House in 08 that u can take to the bank on that.

Just how would that help those fools anyway? I say "Gee, we've had this idiot Bush for 8 years and a second attack? Well, by golly I think it's time for a change!"

I don't see how that would help the GOP win. We are doing every single thing that has been asked by our Republican leadership. If we are attacked again, I don't see how that would be any reason to vote for a Republican. In fact, it would be a good reason not to vote for them. Their lack of diplomacy is a major deficiency in the war on terror.

Maybe you should change your name and symbol to Decepticons, because only a very pessimistic and evil-minded person would even think that the GOP would propogate terrorist attacks in order to regain power. No person in their right mind thinks that Bush-Cheney's administration instigated the 9/11 attacks. I personally don't, and also don't think that any American would do so just to gain power in politics.

Unlikely. But it might wake this country up to the fact that the world is still dangerous.
