The Saudi regime was brought to power by the fundamentalist extremist Islamic clerics of their country. These extremists funnel money to the violent jihadists the world over. The Saud family needs their support to stay in power. They also need western oil money to stay in power. They exert control over the extremists using the money and weapons from the west. So they must walk a tightrope between both sides.

I think the US has tipped over one too many apple carts in the middle east already.

They are malignant.
The 9/11 hijackers were mostly Saudi's
The regime gives more money to suicide bombers families than Iraq had.
The majority of foreign fighters in Iraq are Saudi's despite the emphasis on Iran.

apparently a saudi govt agent gave material aid to the 911 hijackers.

i also understand that the saudis are helping the insurgents to kill our troops. that's why bush just gave them $20 billion for weapons.
