My mom said shed pay me 20 bucks if i ever get her this coin she says when she was little her mom collectd them and she liked that one but i dont know what one shes talking about she says it has a buffalo on it? anyone know if so please post it on here! thanks!

it's probably a buffalo(indian head nickel.

It probably is the Buffalo nickel which is actually an Indian Head nickel. They were struck from 1913-1938. The coins can be bought from a coin dealer for less than a dollar and up. One can get a nice looking one from the 1930's for less than $10. The mintage figure for the 1938 is 118,997,000 so it is far from being scarce. Even the 1919 had a mintage of 60,868,000. See a coin dealer in your area. This coin along with the Indian head cent are considered buy most numismatists to be true American coins with no European influence to their design. I have a 1916 & 1917 Buffalo nickels in high mint state and they are beautiful coins.

It is a buffalo nickel. the old ones are pretty hard to come by, but they have newer ones too. The only reason i have one is cuz my mom saved one for each of her kids. Hope u find one!
