Florida is hotter overall because it doesn't cool down at night. During the summer, the California desert is hotter in the daytime in terms of temperature alone.

The Los Angeles climate is much more pleasant than Tampa. I've lived in both places.

I'm from South Florida, trust me on this. I've been all over the west coast for long periods of time (esp. in summer)

Temperature wise, it's hotter in LA.

It FEELS hotter in Florida.

Why? It can be 100+ degrees in LA or Las Vegas and I won't notice because in Florida you will be SWEATING YOUR *** OFF. No kidding. So the icky sweaty feeling makes it feel ten times hotter when it's only like 90 degrees. In California I can't even remember if I ever sweat ONE TIME. I'm telling you, Cali's hotter (by temp) but Florida's feels hotter, tenfold.

I lived in LA for 11 years, and it really does not get that hot there, except in the San Fernando Valley. LA, is a desert so it is dry heat. Tampa has high humidity accompanied by high temperature.

In Florida it's really humid and that makes it seem hotter, but California has Death Valley and that's the hottest place in the United States.

Cali hands down. Ive been to Tampa. In the Summer the humidity is unbearable. Plus they have Hurricanes. I'll deal with Earthquakes. At least theirs something left to fix.
