How are is it to get into this school? I just recently found out about the school and got interested in it.

I have an average academic record: 3.4 GPA and 1250 SAT (Old SAT), thinking about transferring in if possible. I did the usual stuff while in HS: leadership roles in bands, clubs, student governments, did a ton of community service hours, lots of extracurricular activities and such.

What are the chances of acceptance with my current statistics, how much would I need to improve to be competitive?

Forgot to mention, I'm not a resident of Wisconsin...

Should not be too hard my friend. Also, many people go to other schools in Madison and transfer into UW-Madison.

I would consider doing this

You definitely have a decent chance of getting in -- but it is hardly a sure thing. It would be much more likely if you were a Wisconsin resident.
