The new jerseys-at first sight I thought they were OK, especially some with new logos, like the Caps but after seeing some hockey played in them, they are brutal.
The stitching isn't the same and they are missing that cuff along the bottom which I liked.
Also, the enforcers are PEEVED. When fighting there is nothing to grab ahold of and they are crying foul. They say someone is going to get seriously hurt by them.
Speaking of fighting, did anyone see the Habs Andrew (I think it is his first name) Archer's face? What a mess. I think it was Laraque that filled him in but that has to be the worst shiner I have ever seen.

How about the Canadian dollar? At par and expected to go up to 1.05. Canadian teams must be ecstatic. Does this mean that players will start to want to be paid in Canadian dollars? LOL

All these tickets sold for the "Ice Bowl"? Who the hell wants to sit in the upper bowl of of a football end zone in unpredictable weather to watch (if you can call it that)

TB- considering that the "casual fan" in most cases isn't as fit as a fiddle, I would think (hope) they would lean toward the old style.
The new ones don't look good on the average person.

TB-interesting little conspiracy theory on it being the NHL's way to curb fighting. You might be giving them too much credit though, I don't think they are that smart.lol

All's I have to say is hahahahahhaha.

I know this is supposed to screw with my answer ratio, but damn sometimes I think you read my mind.

These uni's are brutal...... I DID see Archer's face- looked like a lump of wet turf...... for the first time in many years, I will not be buying any new gear in Canada to save money........ and I was at the MSU-Michigan game and couldn't see a damn thing, enjoy Buffalo.

Not really into them myself either Bob. While some teams did a nice job (Caps, Sens, Pens, and the original 6) I don't think the smaller size is apealling. They could have kept the template the same, scaled it down 10% or so perhaps, but the departure from tradition wasn't really necessary in my opinion, but that's just my 2 cents (U.S.). Now, I'm never going to say that change isn't good for anybody, but the uniform changes are as meaningful to me as the trapezoid behind the goal.

Glad to see the Canadian dollar doing so well, it will help to level the field somewhat. Guess I'll have to stop answering the "Why aren't there more Canadian teams?" posts that come up often, with my standard answer.

Thanks for the info.

ADDENDUM: I'm very comfortable in the cold weather and would love to attend an ice bowl game. I've played many games in the dead of winter around the Philly 'burbs in my time. Ah, the days of numb feet, frozen snot on the upper lip, and bouncing pucks on the pond and lake surfaces of my youth.....

#1 I am not a fan of the new threads either.
#2 The Canadian dollar being on par is momentary I believe. Nonetheless my wife and I were talking about Christmas shopping today. It looks like we are crossing the border this year,if the dollar remains this high. I also am looking at a new computer and I think I will purchase it from the states and pay the tax hit on it when it comes up to the border. It is still cheaper than buying it in Canada.
#3 If I could go, I would to the game in Buffalo. It is only like a 45 min-1 hr drive for me. But I cannot get into the states at the moment. (so i guess that presents a problem for x-mas shopping eh?)

The RBK jersey are unnecessary, like because they can wick away moisture and are tighter Raffi Torres is going to score 50 goals?. They are strictly here for $$$.

The Canadian dollar is interesting but mostly likely the player's little hussy will dictate where they play

The "Ice Bowl" sounds good on paper and Bettman can look like a hero and feel all gooey but this should have been tried years ago when the NHL actually had momentum and ESPN.

To tell you the truth, the jerseys HAVE grown on me (no, my name is not Gary Bettman) Think about it. All the NHL is focused on right now is "Reaching out to the casual fan" And which jersey is the casual fan gonna buy; a husky one that is intended to be up a size or two, or a "form-fitting" one similar to a football jersey. As for the fighting, maybe its the NHL secret way of getting rid of fighting (thats a dark thought)

I have no comment on the Canadian dollar. Im not too bothered with politics at the moment, my heads to filled with training camp battles right now.

"Ice Bowl"? It's always sunny in Tampa!

I guess I should rephrase the "casual fan" to "average american sports fan"
