When I go to Brushes>Reset brushes> (I hit the brush file that I want) it doesn't do anything, it just gives me the brushes that were out before trying to open up the new file...

Is my photoshop (7) not compatible? (I made sure they were ABR files) please someone help!

Place the *.abr files in Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 7\Presets\Brushes.
From the Brushes Palette in Photoshop, click the small arrow in the upper right corner of the palette, and choose load brushes. The brushes will be added to the current brushes.
About compatibility any Photoshop brushes should work in Photoshop 7 and later but...exceptions could happen.
