I heard a talk by someone in the biotech industry, and he said that their ideal candidate has an MBA in addition to a MS or PhD, because not only does that person know how to do good science, he or she also knows how the business side works. He said that a person with a PhD doesn't really understand how a company needs to work, because they have been in academia for too long--academia does not focus on building a marketable product, in contrast to industry, which requires generation of marketable products to survive and make a profit.

I assume that it will be similar in the engineering field--if you want to go into industry, an MBA can only help you.

More? More than what?

I think that an MBA from a top school will allow you to earn the same as an MBA from a top school combined with Chemical Engineering. This will be much more than you would make with a MS in Chemical Engineering alone.

An MBA from a school that is not a top school will allow you to make the same as a MS in Chemical Engineering without an MBA degree.

In other words -- it is the quality of the MBA, not the MS that determines what you will make.
