I personally believe that responsible gun ownership is the right of every American, and if you can't carry, what good is that right?

I think that responsible gun owners should be allowed to carry (and if they're licensed to - concealed carry).

There are just too many irresponsible gun owners (and illegal gun owners) who've made it next to impossible to get one of those in the state I live.

Absolutely it is a good thing. If you are well trained and continue your training (going to the range) you are an asset to not only your loved ones but, perfect strangers as well.

It's like anything though, if you put a weapon in the hands of an idiot there are going to be problems.

That's the trade off of freedom.

I personally would rather have freedom than a bunch of laws prohibiting concealed carry.

They are a good thing. Gives you a fighting chance to defend yourself. That being said, however, those who have them need to be very careful of the consequences and liability laws involved which are very strict. Of course I believe that, "It's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6."

I believe there are a good thing. Criminals will think twice if they suspect their intended victim may be armed.
