4 bedrooms, lvngroom, dining room, kitchen, 2 baths, 2 patios...85.00 per week for about 4 hours with 2-3 people. Then twice a week for the mild suff, another 85.00 per week. And you thougth I was lazy! Hmmmm. Do you know how hard I have to work to make enough money to pay for housekeepers? I hate house work, will always hate house work, and....well, you get the idea.... I like a clean house, but I hate making it that way. On the other hand, I have a blast making sure my housekeepers have enough work to keep them busy. I consider this as supporting the economy..my little contribution to world wealth!

I've never had that option. I've always done my own cleaning or it just didn't get done. Plus I did all of the outside gardening
and lawn mowing, and often on the same day as I did my
major cleaning. Oh to have that energy again.
Now my hubby does the vacuuming and any chore I can't
reach well. I do the bathrooms and dusting and mopping when I'm able. And we share the laundry piles as needed.
So it's a joint effort to say the least.
I'd love to have someone come in from the state to clean
for us. But that's not an option since they don't have it in their
budget any longer, I was told. Even for people who are dis-
abled.

I can't afford a housekeeper,
but live in a Senior apt. complex and some of the ladies have IHSS workers.
These are county-paid for
disabled Seniors and they
get minimum wage for 4 hrs.
only per client.
There are also private cleaning co's that get about
$10.00/hr. And when I first
moved to the Coast, I had
my own affluent clients who
paid me $15/hr. These were
not Seniors tho.

We have a 3 brdm detached two story house I do all the housework, laundry ,cooking ,lawn care and gardening for room and board, I use my pension of $172.00 a month to buy my grandaughter clothing and school supplies. If I made $85.00 a week, I'd think I had died and gone to heaven!

I pay $50 cash every 2 weeks for (damp cloth dusting) of my entire home. I have 2200 sq feet (4bedrooms, 2 bath, front room, dining room, kitchen, kitchen nook, family room laundryroom). She damp cloths all my ceiling fans, all my furniture, tons of cupboards throughout the house, and cleans all the mirrors as well.
( I have 2-8ft mirrors in each bathroom and 2 sets of mirrored, sliding closet doors.
She does a beautiful job and worth every penny!!!
I'm in northern California.
