depends on your dr. mine said no way unless my baby girl is 10lbs at my 38 weeks ultrasound (um whatever) and i have friends telling me their dr's induced them "just because" they complained of being uncomfortable. although i will say i dont really trust a dr who induces simply based on the mom's wishes. id rather wait and give my baby a chance to grow as much as she can, within my body. good luck!

It would all depend on why you want to be induced. If it's for a health reason, or the baby's in danger, or too big, then yes, you can be induced. But if you want to be induced because you want the baby's birth day on a certain day, then i would highly say no.
Being induced isn't any fun. The medication they have you on, makes the contractions 10x worse! It's NOO fun being induced.

I just asked my doctor is she would induce me because my fundal height is measuring two weeks ahead. She looked at me like I was crazy and told me no. My baby weighed 3lbs 6 oz at my 28 week ultrasound and they said she was going to be a "big baby", so I figured I would ask if I could be induced at 38 weeks.

She told me I have a healthy pregnancy and there is no medical reason to induce :( So it looks like I have to go the full 40 weeks.

I have heard of doctor's inducing based on a mother's wish, that's why I asked, but apparently you have to have a good medical cause to be induced.

I think they try to only use it as a last resort, however if you are past due they tend to induce more often.

Mots reputable doctors wont do it unless it's medically necessary. There are some out there who seem to do it a lot, but it puts both mom and baby at a higher risk for complications.

Depends on your Dr. and your situation I think. You should speak to your Dr. about this. No one here knows enough about you to tell you much.

good luck !

A good Dr won't do it unless there is a medical reason...not just because you are uncomfortable.

Depends on your doctor. You can ask, and they can deny.
