I noticed that ALOT of baby items are made in China and even everything else I see is usually made in China. Why is that?

When a living wage is as low as $1 an hour in China, and a living wage is many times more in the USA -- then manufactures will go to China instead of keeping jobs in America.
That is basic economics 101 and as simple as it gets.

I was looking at some old clothing in my closet and they all seemed to be made in the United States. but most, if not all, textile work has since been outsourced. yet, the prices of the clothing appear to have stayed the same, adjusting for inflation. the bottom line is, the companies want more profit so they will seek cheap labor in nations such as China. it's not only baby items, it's almost everything -_-

Because, Chinese are prepared to work like an assembly line. Workers who are preparing the goods are not aware about what they are producing and where it is going to be sold. And another thing is piracy. They are biggest in volume at piracy market. Due to that they don't need to invest money or R&D for that product. Hence final cost of manufacturing the product becomes so cheaper that what ever you want you can get more cheaper if it is haiving tag of "Made In China". But in other way, they are loosing the trust also. No one can take the guarantee of the chinese product's life.

People don't want to pay a lot of money. It's consumers who drive the market. That's why so much of our manufacturing is now off shore.

Because they mass produce the stuff for a cheap price, send it here...and voila! Cheap made, expensive sold!

because they are on a mission to run our country plus its cheap for them to hire youngsters to manufactor items. i guess makes sense to me im still trying to firgure that culture out ( i am not prejudice n any way) i never saw a homeless asian or chinese? have yu yet wen u watch the teens spelling bee its made up of mostly asians?? yeh they do seem to produce most of our products.. have u notice they dont drive american cars either??

They can pay them something like a dollar a day to work,cheaper real estate,no benefits.
