No. Some of the serious flamers can be irritating, but they're a tiny minority. I don't find gays scary or have any cause to hate them.
Except for the gays who are in the closet. THEY KEEP REARRANGING MAH STUFF!!!!
Come to think of it, there were about 10 years when, if I hadn't been hanging out with lesbians, I wouldn't have gotten laid at all.
