im having a hard time remembering which way to turn to back out from a parking spot at the store does any one have any suggestions as how to remember which way to go????

You could just pull straight through to the other side when parking, that way you don't have to back out. Just park where you can pull straight out until you have more practice and feel comfortable. ;-)

Do you mean you do not know which way to turn the steering wheel, when you are backing out?
You need to turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction of where you want to point the FRONT of your car.
Lets say you start to move backwards and turn the steering wheel to the right. This will point the BACK of your car to the right and when you are out of the parking spot, the FRONT of the car will be facing left of the spot you were in when you were parked.
Is this what you were asking?
The "formula" is: when you are moving FORWARD, the FRONT of the car turns to the same side where you turn the wheel. When you go BACKWARDS, the BACK of the car turns in the direction you turn the wheel.
And, I'm sorry to say, but if you do not know which way to turn the steering wheel, you have no business driving (until you learn.)

It's always safer to back into a Parking space instead of backing out. If you back in you drive out nose first. That's the way the pros do it.

sit in the car looking backwards and observe the other cars and which way they are moving. That should let you know which way is the way to travel once you have backed out.

each lane of parking is like traffic so you drive on right back out the way you came in...back to right, then go strait pas the space you just occupied...lanes divided left and right in u.k. opposite... don't ever go from where you came that's backwards???help!!!
