I thought they were going to end the war, cut funding to the troops, raise taxes on the rich, free health care for everyone. The only thing i've seen is their desire to legalize anyone who breaks into our country, but fortunately America won that battle. Oh, I forgot, their too buys with endless iinvestigations that lead no where.

Interesting how Democrats get control of congress and their approval rating plummets to the lowest ever. And yes, even lower then the Presidents.

I love the weak answers from the democrats. How about something that true in your next answer. The only thing anyone posted that's true is the minimum wage increase. Woo Hoo, actually worse for the lower class. Only benefits the ones who get to keep their jobs after the rest are laid-off.

Hmmm. Nothing....... But you hit the nail on the head with the ridiculous investigations. My thoughts on that is this. If they haven't found any wrong doing. Drop it and get back to America's business you freaking dumb asses are we will not vote for you again!!!

The differences between the Republicans and Democrats was very clear cut until the 70's.Nowadays things are quite different and except for the few exceptions to the rule (some true social democrats) it seems that the democrats have mostly the same agenda as the republicans. They are both just following the orders of the same lobby and the same people behind stage who are pulling the strings. They are each catering to the rich and powerful. They just sound differently but are effectively turning out the same crap.
Lately it's both that have been taking away your liberties while robbing your (the US) population as well as that of the whole world. For instance the Clinton administration already prepared for many legal and political changes that have been carried through by the Bush administration. Maybe only a majority vote for Nader could have made a change. ..

Democracy is an art of compromise. Remember the Republicans are still running the administration. There's only so much the congress can do to "influence" the administration. The recent announcement of troop reduction is one of the successes by the Democrats. You are not looking for a final showdown between the administration and the congress, are you?

Uncovered corruption in the Bush Administration.
Removed the rubber stamp from Congress and instilled real oversight. That is why the smirk is off Bush's face.
Tried several times to legislate the will of the people but that will keeps getting blocked by Republicans and the President.
They proposed the bill that would make it possible for illegals to pay a fine but stay in the country because they understand the economic impact of deportation which the other side doesn't.
Investigated and uncovered more corruption in the GOP and in the Bush Administration.
Did I mention the Corruption in the Bush Administration and the hypocracy they are uncovering and investigating?

About as much as the Republicans did in the 12 years they controlled the Congress.
Surely you didn't think that things would change just because the corporate sponsors changed?
I suppose you were equally as angry with the 4 years worth of investigations into Clinton.
I thought not.

How many times a day is this question going to be asked? The democrats do not have amajority in Congress that can override Bush.... A better question would be why does the GOP ignore the will of 70% of the American public?

Only raise minimum wage by a few cents.Bush actually wanted to raise it to $7.25/hr.The Dems blocked Bush's bill because if they raised minimum wage that high then they would not be able to raise taxes.People like Ted Kennedy want to legalize not only every illegal alien but also bring their families to this country and legalize them too,and I'm not talking about just spouses and children. He wants to let their aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters etc in this country also. The reason Dems want this is because if they were to later become citizens they know minorities pro dominantly vote Democrat. It would be their ticket to create a one party system in this country.

They did drastically raise the cost of living by raising the minimum wage, which does nothing but punish the middle class for not being rich enough.

they've passed everything they said they would... that's about the limit of their powers... since it was mostly vetoed...
there's a system of checks and balances
and the vast majority didn't say they would cut funding to the troops, as is evident in the recent vote and was evident if you bothered to listen to hardly any of them while they were running... they want a timeline to get out of Iraq, not just cut funding and run

The democrats do not have a strong enough majority to do what they need to do. It's not their fault if they haven't done all. The republicans block any progressive legislation.
