Typically professors at top tier institutions spend more time in academic institutions and away from the real world. Typically people who don't live like most of us tend to be liberal like celebrities..........

that's no longer that loads of a secret. the two liberal and conservative mindsets are significant to our fulfillment as a species and a rustic. while someone is on the line of discovery, it demands an opened minded attitude. New concepts require a liberal attitude. Liberals are the individuals who hit upon new horizons. that would not cause them to greater proper than conservatives. It makes them the two significant. A conservative attitude purposes interior the here and now. It applies just about which brings the concepts of the liberal concepts to existence. with out the conservative minded person, large projects like guy's journey to the moon might by no skill have been finished. This liberal/conservative debate over who's the greater proper is very silly. As they are asserting, it takes 2 to tango.

Cause liberals rule and conservatives drool!!
Actually, I wonder if there is something kind of proprietary undercurrent with/about that study? I'd guess liberals, in general, have more imagination, willing to change more and are less frightened by different thought lines. But later as time works on the mind, fear presents it's self and you then have con servitude mentality. But... You have to take into consideration that the terms (conservative, liberal) are used inappropriately of late, many people who are either are really no different other than what they'd rather believe. Deep down, where it counts, they are really just the same. On the street, you don't see folks wearing signs on their backs proclaiming either, unless there is something to gain or lose from the descriptor. It's all hype and basic bull crap.

I see so much disrespect here. These people teach (or try) your children. They teach because they love it. They are liberal because their minds are open. They don't put the Universe in a box. Some of you said because they can't make it in the real world. That is just, well stupid. Sorry but it is. I would love to see some of you keep pace with these fine people. But go ahead and be enthralled with Brittany or O.J.'s latest BS. Honor your sports hero. By all means do nothing, say nothing to support the teachers/professors/scientists of our country.

Just theorizing here. If you look up liberal and conservative in the dictionary you find that conservatives basically want things to be the same day to day, year to year. They like the status quo, rules and laws that don't change. This mind set makes them much more prone to religious ideologies. Liberals, on the other hand, seem to be much more comfortable with the intellectual exploration and investigation that accompanies scientific pursuits. They're actually enthused when things don't go as they expected as it means they have something else to work on. Broad generalizations, I know, but them's my two cents.

Conservative minds tend to be locked shut and intractable. That's counter indicated in the world of science and reason.
Knowledge is in a constant state of ebbing and flowing-even changing before our eyes.
There will never, ever be a discreet point in time when any one individual obtains "perfect, complete knowledge." Even so, one is able to gather new knowledge, improve existing knowledge and learn new ways of applying it when one has liberal access to the world and its cultures. And of course, to learn and appreciate via the world's cultures, tolerance must be present. That isn't often the case with many conservatives.
Worse still, is their inherit fear of change or anything new. Because change is inevitable, being resistant to it renders the scientist obsolete and unreliable.

Apparently the test for most cons is whether they can make it "in the real world". This is enough to tell me they don't have any idea how incredibly competitive upper echelon schools professorships really are. Probably because they have no education themselves.

Because they can brainwash and influence more up and coming individuals to think like them there . . . I have never once had a conservative teacher bring up anything regarding politics in a class where is didn't belong, but I have had liberal teachers do it, and it's unwelcome . . .

Because conservatives take their educations and work for a living.
More Liberals prefer to compensate for their lack of cahones and dominate a captive audience of students.
And they don't like to work.

Maybe because they are better educated or more educated than the average person.
Well educated persons are more likely to think outside the box.
An educated person knows that things are not always black and white.... there are many gray areas.
