Do you have to buy the songs from iTunes to put onto an Ipod? Or can you rip them from a CD or download them for free from limewire?

itunes can convert other files into an ipod compatible one.
I download free music all the time [dont use limewire or anything of that ****] and its all on me ipod
one quick note: if you do download from a site, make sure you save the file in an area that youll remember and that you always have it, cause if you delete it, itunes cannot connect to that music file, and thus, wont be able to recognize where the song is supposed to come from, and thus, no more song on itunes

True. you dont need to buy them. They're free on lime wire. just open itunes and limewire at the same time and drag the completed songs from limewire to your itunes library.

you can do all 3. Also you can get people to email songs to you and then put them in. iTunes and iPod supports many different file types, such as .mp3, .wav, .m4p, and .m4a, to name a few.
