How would I make my own belly cast? I know they sell kits but if I can get the same result and save the money I'd rather do that and spend the money on something else for the baby.

you can do a paper machette type cast. Get paper and shred it. Make a paste of flour and water and you put the paste on the pieces and put it over your belly you will need a fan to speed up the drying process and help to do it but it would be the same then smoothe the extra paste on to make the smotheness and when you take it off should be all hard and wait another 24 hours to paint and decorate

You could always go the papier-mâché route. It would be fun and a cool way of use old news-papers from around the time you found out you were pregnant to the time you are about to give birth.
