It lasts longer if you do the horizontal slide, though there are those who use the reversing twirl. the slide maximizes but the twirl is more fun.

A little over 1,200. I used to work in catering and at one party( a wedding) the guests were running late arriving from the church so I counted the licks to pass the time.
