I like pantene. It does a great job conditioning my split ends, so the hair stays healthier longer (so it grows out and doesn't split off too much making me need a haircut). It's accessible and affordable.

The more active you are, the faster your hair grows. Seriously- when I work out more, my hair grows faster, if I stop working out and being so active, it barely grows at all. It is not about shampoo-

To help your hair grow longer, make sure you are getting proper nutrition. Also, get your hair trimmed regularly. Hair that isn't trimmed will have split ends and break easily.

hair grows internally. by the time it has come out of your head it had done it's job. it's dead. so basically all one can do to it is condition it.
the thing is to work internally and feed hair. some of the stuff I would recommend is Silicia Gel (tabs or liquid), Rosemary (herb or tinture), Nettle (herb or tinture).
some other stuff to condition it would be Jojoba Oil mixed with those herbs I mentioned earlier.
