As a liberal, I do not agree with the ad. They did not need to resort to personal attacks, JUST LIKE Republicans should not have questioned the patriotism of triple amputee Vietnam Veteran and former Democrat congressmen Max Cleland in the same ad as Osama Bin Laden.

That being said, it was just an ad (NO LAWS WERE BROKEN), and Fox News and the rest of the radio/cable media has been at it for days. This could turn out to be as bad as the Dean scream which they covered for weeks.

It was an ad. Not exactly tasteful but not bad. Just a play on words. But the GOP has nothing so this is their idea of proof that Democrats are wrong. Did the fact that Petraus embellish matter to the GOP or that Move.on put out an ad that offended them? Heck Bush offends me daily but I don't throw a hissy fit like the GOP.
Pathetic group the GOP.

In the past Republicans have called General Anthony Zinni,
General Charles Swannack, Major General John Batiste, Marine Corps Lieutenant General Gregory Newbold, and Army Major General Paul Eaton traitors. Where's the outrage?

Dan Rather ran a piece on Bush's service record which was dependent on what turned out to be phony documents. There was a huge brouhaha. Swift Boat liars make a personal attack on Kerry's service record based on lies and deception and Republicans go along with it.

Republicans haven't stopped the public trial and conviction of William Jefferson and demands that he be removed from office. Do you really think that they are going to give Stevens the same treatment?

Dina- The Democrats stripped Jefferson of his committee assignments. It was the Republicans that said that the search was illegal (for once they were probably right).

Smearing the troops is not straws.

About Ted Stevens doesn't mean squat.

How come that when a republican is acussed the democrats call for him to resign on the spot but a democrat is innocent until proven guilty and is not ask to resign.

You are right no laws where broken about the ad.
No laws are broken with the response either.

Free Speech is for everyone.

Yet when a senator who voted for the general calls him a liar.

That is out of line.

Hillary should be ashamed but that would required for her to have soul.

What they do no longer inform you approximately those commercials is they provided links and former costs from Patraeus which rendered loads of his checklist inconsistent with the fact. the excellent wing spin gadget has made it out to be debatable and irrelevant and not supportive of our troops while this is merely no longer real. Now they're asserting that the dems are putting infants in threat because of the fact Bush won't sign a invoice for infants' wellbeing care. something that comes out of this administration is a LIE and by no skill does this administration represent undemanding, fiscally conservative and accountable Republicans.

It was just too good of an example of the mentality of the Left in this country today.

Did you read the ad? They claim that the death numbers are reduced because the Army doesn't count car bomb victims or people shot in certain parts of their head. Moveon.org is one of the sources of the idiotic bile that spews from the typical anti-Bush, military bashing, socialist Liberal.

You know, the Democratic base.

You say this and we're whining?

From my standpoint tons of libs are irate at their political candidates for not ironing their panties when they had the chance.

edit:
If they sold the ad spot for the standard $163,000 fee instead of FORCING them to only pay $60,000... Brought on more attention than they knew how to handle.

You really don't have to grasp at straws to know this is a smoking gun for the witch and her campaign. To bad the media won't report it like they would if it were a Republican...

Meanwhile...

If it was a Democrat under FBI surveillance the Democrats would be crying foul.
