This rule applies for all electronics and speakers. When you buy speakers you always want to make sure they are 'Magnetically Sheilded' Most speakers these days are already by default sheilded. What happens is in all speakers there is a magnet. Not like the ones we used to play with on Big Momma's fridge. But one made specifically made for the speaker. Well if it's not shielded it can really damage your equipment. Especially the old school monitors. Will this subwoofer mess up your UPS? If you don't know if it is sheilded or not or if you have one of those woofers made for the stage just splice your line and make it longer and put it on the other side of the room.

I had the same problem with my laser printer. You need to look at the total amperage and wattage the UPS is rated for. If the subwoofer puts you over the maximum amperage and wattage, then you need to plug it into another circuit.

Hope this helps

Why power your speakers thru the UPS ? U do not need to have a UPS for speakers: only monitor & computer so's you can shut down safely.
