Happy Birthday, Simon Cowell! (October 7)
He’s the man that people love to hate—the brash, brutally honest British judge on American Idol. He causes Paula to storm off at least once per season, sometimes provoking her to tears and shouting matches in front of contestants; oddly enough, she’s been known to kiss him when they both agree. Maybe there’s a hint of charm somewhere deep inside this snarky personality, though even the Queen of England agreed that he is “a dreadful man.” It makes you wonder if Simon’s mother saw this coming when a four year old Simon he told her she looked like a poodle because of her fuzzy white pillbox hat. Though he angers many with his criticism, he must be doing something right because he’s helped some of the best voices in the recording industry to rise to their full potential.
