We are a conservative nation, and we are not going back to the days of "whatever man!"

I hope left wingers have learned their lesson in all of this.

Oh yeah, that makes sense. Such a conservative nation chose to elect more democrats than republicans in the senate and house of representatives elections. That same nation has lost so much support for the Republican elected president that he is now one of the least appreciated presidents in history. If anything's been proven by all this, it's not that one party is trumping the other, but that Americans are looking for change.

The status or mind-set of the nation cannot be determined by one election or even a 5-year- period. One has to look at the overall trend, say, since 1975.
Have we achieved an average higher standard of living?
Is a greater percentage living below the poverty line?

You people might want to look at the ratings that you have used to beat Bush down with over the last two years.
Now the Senate (Dem) has only a 16% aapproval under Pelosi.
This guy might have a point!

I always find it humorous when someone makes assumptions about the people in the U.S. and their assumption is based on no more than they can see from their own front porch. The statement that we are a right of center nation cannot be confirmed or denied....but if you wanna go thru life thinking everyone thinks just like you do......have fun

The people at the controls right now are ideologues, and if they have their way we will end up with some kind of unholy alliance of big business and Christian conservatism. Military-industrial theocracy isn't something I would like to live under

The hope is the peculiar genius of a democratic form of government. Over time it tends to balance itself, to correct wild swings that result from crises and reach a stable point. It remains to be seen whether we can do that under the current stresses. Winston Churchill said that democracy is a very poor form of government --- but it's better than any other form we have been able to come up with.

Define conservatism. Real conservatives of the past, like Goldwater, are now the moderate Dems in terms of their political views. The current conservatives are more accurately labeled as neo-cons, or I think neo-fascists. Americans have given these neo-fascists their chance. The last 7 years have been some of the worse, most unproductive, most violent in our history. The neo-cons time is almost up and we should be extremely glad.

What a joke. America is not at all right in fact it may be more centered than ever before. When you post a question try and ascertain facts so you don't look so much like a dumba$$.

Of course not, after the next election they will trot out the same old and tired excuses for losing that they used for the previous six years.

I wonder if he'll mention that during his speech to the libs at Columbia, mrs hichefheidi.

The American people cannot be lumped into “Red” nor “Blue” States, parties or even income (that’s a ‘media’ thing). Most of us are almost perfectly dead center on most “issues”.

If you believe that one political party represents most of anything, you need to start re-thinking whatever it is; you have been thinking.

The facts don't support you. There are more registered democrats than republicans and the majority of those are moving to the left.
