Jena 6.......

Please take off your rose colored glasses.... Blacks ..... City Blacks in particular...... WAKE UP..... Nothing has changed.

The problem here was the reaction of the institutions.... Ropes in trees..... violent reactions.... Deal with it as a public order offense.... Instead the White boys are told off for being naughty boys and the blacks were charged with attempted Murder.... I say again.... What a disgusting RACIST society....

No Nothing has changed.
but most here will ignore this question. Partly because they do not know who the "Jena 6" are and partly because they do not care.
but let us face it.
the boys beat up a white kid.
before that the white kids had hung a noose where Blacks chose to sit in the school yard
The whites probably thought it was funny.
amongst them were a few racists.
Then white man law came into play.
He chose to overcharge the Jena 6 because they beat up some white boy.
Law enforcement need to stop lying.
of course this has to do with race.
hummm
what if some white boys had chosen to beat up a Black kid.
it would have been looked upon as
'boys will be boys'
In a few decades it is not going to matter much about how "crime" is handled.
Black man with white women all over the place. Mixed race babies in every corner of the United States.
For that matter some of you die-hard white racists probably have some Black kid dating your daughter or neice.
ah yes soon racism will be a thing of the past.
Cause white girls love Black men.
and they're going to keep having those beautiful children.
and there is not a thing you can do about it.
Not a thing.

Having grown up in the rural south during the 60's I remember seeing separate entrances at the movies, water fountains with 'white only' written above them. I also remember, that my father was 60 when I was born and referred in loving terms to Aunt Lil, the black woman who raised him, as the most positive, beautiful person he ever had the pleasure to know. I think the whole problem with Jena, LA was discussed on a news show last night, it is 85% white and they want to know why they are ONLY 85% white. The boys who reacted to the nooses were provoked and pushed until they did something they shouldn't have, and they should have been charged with assault, not attempted murder. Saying that, the ones who provoked them, hung the nooses on the 'white's only' tree, and otherwise made their lives a living hell for even thinking about sitting in 'white territory' should be charged with a civil rights violation or hate crime. We can't mandate that the white Jena residents stop being bigots, but what we can do is make sure any outward sign or threat is taken seriously and handled by authorities that don't fall into the 'good ol' boy' column.

Your right but nothing has changed for the white guy either

Not sine fuedalisim - things have not changed

We still go to work and make our Lords a profit of one to 10 becuase that the way "it should be" You get paid 10 an hr your generating at least 90 bucks to justify your employment)

We still never own property because of Property tax which is no more than rent from the government and or Lord/Baron

We are still lineing up behind out Kings to die in war We inherently accept chain of command - a class syestem where title mean more than ethics and if you are better than someone else than some one else like the CEO is better than you

Yep the dumb white guy - thinks things have changed for him

But he is still a working stiff that owes servatude to his Lord (Empoyer)and pays the Knight (Mayor ) off for police and such by renting a house And athough that peasant thinks he owns property because he has a deed - Just wait until he doesn't pay that property tax and see what "rent" is all about

Racisim exists because people will not wake up to the fact

It suits the elites the "Nobles" the corperate heads that we the people are tied in an endless hate

When we fight the elite pick our pockets and use us against each other

Those elites do not care what colour you are - To them your just a commodity - One fights the other They do not look at anything else -

Everything is the black/white problem as the powers that be rob you both blind

I say so. My rose colored glasses have been off for some time now and I see a few bigots here and there, but nothing systemic and certainly nothing government sanctioned. It's a mistake to assume that unequal outcomes are the result of a racial conspiracy. For example, throwing a rope over a school tree is not a good thing given the context in which it was done, but who was injured? On the other hand, six beatng one to unconsciousness is pretty serious to my rose colored mind.

Not Me.

When I moved south my biggest worry was dealing with the racists. I could see me and my big mouth getting in trouble.

It hasn't happened but not for lack of racists. The most amazing thing to me though is that being white, most racists assume that I am one of them.

To be honest, I thing that people in the north are as racist as down here. Just not so open about it.

You are right that nothing has changed. Jena shows that we are still in the 50's as far as that is concerned. And if they could get away with it, they probably would have lynched those boys.

Racism is alive and well anywhere there are people, unfortunately. I have lived in Alaska almost my entire life, but there are *lots* of villages here I would not visit without a proper Native escort. Why? Because I'm white. Is that fair? Of course not - but you can't change human nature, and for some idiotic reason, we *all* tend to focus on our differences, instead of what we have in common - which is far greater.

the founding fathers written the constitution for white christian males. not for women or minorities and certainly not for blacks (they owned slaves)

we are a nation that was founded on white supremancy and until America admits this nothing will change regarding race.

The only people who think America isn't inherently racist are racists and fools.

What are you talking about? You surely not saying it's the kid that got beat up's fault for getting beat up by 6 kids. It doesn't matter if you're white, black, brown or purple, NO ONE deserves to be beat down by six people. I have a little experience on this matter. My son (who is an athletic trainer in college) was jumped by 2 black football players last year and was beaten black and blue untill his friends showed up and the football players ran off. He didn't press charges because the security people at the college told him that little, if any would be done to the football players and he would have to see them daily in the training room. One of the players continually bragged about how he "whipped that white boy's a$$". My son is no racist. He never accused them of racism.
You're right about one thing, there is racism in this country, and it's not only white being racist towards black.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are most responsible for ensuring racism lives on.
These 6 kids that quite nearly beat one kid to death should be in jail and tried for attempted murder. Period. Let the law do it's job.
BTW, where were the race baiters when an illegal alien executed 3 college bound black kids in NJ?
Oh, there werent any whites involved, so they werent needed for that.
