I am not sure how to explain this without gross details, but i have just noticed that my labia majora is really, really swollen, it has also changed colour, it is now almost purple looking. Also one side seems to be more swollen than the other. There is no pain, no itching whatsoever.
I am 26 weeks pregnant. Any ideas if this is common in pregnancy...I couldnt get any info on it.

CD it would have been terribly difficult for me to get pregnant without having sex.

I had the same exact thing when I was pregnant with my first son, the doc said it was the pressure from the baby pressing down on your blood vessels, it happened with my last pregnancy also. Dont worry, its ok

It is quite possible that your swollen labia could in fact be due to a yeast infection. This is probably the most common cause for this. Usually this would be associated with some irritation, possible itching and maybe even a little discharge. It sounds quite likely. It's pretty safe to use the over-the-counter anti-fungal medications that are available including Monistat, Femstat, Mycelex, etc. But if you try one of those medications and it does not work, you definitely need to see a physician for further evaluation of this. Most likely, if you've never had sex before, it is probably something either related to a yeast infection or just some chronic irritation.

I would give your OB a quick call and talk to her about it, you are probably due for a check up soon anyway. I have never heard of this occurring during pregnancy, and it's better safe the sorry.

Call your doc if the clinic is still open report this to his nurse and she will get back to you as to what the doc feels you should do.

I'd say it's increased blood flow due to pressure on your genitals from the baby. However, I would still go to your dr.

it sounds like a blocked Bartholin's gland, but suggest you see your ob to be on the safe side.
