Yeah. So today I go to first period, and I can already tell that my flow was unusally heavy. I ask my friend if it was leaking, and she said she couldn't tell, because I had a long shirt on. First period goes by, and ten minutes to the end of the class, the teachers ask us to switch seats.Turns out it WAS leaking, and I had gotten blood all over the seat! And the girl who switched to my seat made a big deal about! Me and my friend left for the nurse, and the teacher had to clean it up. Im so mortified right now.

Any advice that would make me feel better? I feel like I'm going to cry.

This kind of thing has happened to most of us at one time or another. There is nothing you can do but ignore and learn from this that you need to use super absorbency products on your heavy days. If you use a tampon be sure it is super absorbency and if one super isn't enough then insert two of them or use a tampon and a pad. If you wear pads use a super pad but one that has wings for extra protection or use an overnight pad which is larger.

Awww, I feel for you, it's happened to me too and all my friends at one time or another. We all wear hoodies around the time so if you think you leaked or have you can wrap your hoody around your waist and tie it in the front with the sleeves. My period was never the same either, one month it would be heavy and over in a few days and the next month could be light and last for 10 days. That girl was really mean to make a big deal about it. Like everyone knows you wouldn't do that on purpose. My neice recently wet her pants in class, she's never had a problem before, but it happened, she was 16, she just shrugs her shoulders and says "Oh well!" Her attitude helped no one cared because she didn't act like she did. I'm surprised and happy for her because she kinda shy, soft spoken, tiny little thing. Try hard to not care, what can you do, it happened. The only one that's going to remember this forever is you, sorry to say but everyone else will have their own embarrassing moments to live with. Lots will happen over the next week and this will be old news, try to not let it get you down, you'll be ok.

You are still pretty young, even if you're in high school, and your body is getting used to all of this period stuff. Believe me, I'm 33 and your body will change a few times in your lifetime. So chalk it up to things going on you can't know about, explain, let alone predict. I've had three kids, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, etc etc. Just be easy on yourself, and try to always be prepared. Also, you'll definitly be sensitive to someone (even strangers) in the future, should you see them leaking or should the same thing happen to them that you went though. (I'm not saying you weren't sensitive before this incident, but experience is a huge teacher.) Should anyone say anything to you about this, simply say something like "I hope it never happens to you" or if it's a smart *** trying to make you feel small, then talk loud and a little fast (makes you sound confidant) spewing off something like "Dysfuncional uterine bleeding is set apart from regular menstrual incidences in that the surge of estrogen this cycle sent my hormones plumeting and I actually became anemic! I just may need a few liters of blood to bring the levels back up but crossing and typing my blood would take too long in a dr's office so we're just gonna hope iron and previous established remadies relieve the situation! It's beyond my control, really."

Then walk away from them as they try to think of something to come back with! HA!

oh, hun, im sorry! periods ruin everything! but dont feel bad, it happens to everybody sometime or another. i've bled through before, when my period was first starting. a girl in one of my classes had the exact same thing happen to her, but she didnt even know it! i felt so bad for her!! the guys were all making fun of the blood on her seat and her pants, and she didnt even know!! i had to go up to her and tell her...
see? it happens to everybody!

if your period is super heavy, and the jumbo pads/tampons dont work, or you dont feel confident with them, then i would suggest wearing over-night pads. they are extremely safe. just dont wear tight jeans with them!

i hope the rest of your periods go better!
dont let anybody tease you about it, its totally normal, and they are the immature ones!

♥♥

Carry an extra pad or small towel in your gear at that time of the month to clean up spillage.

This happens to everyone at some point in their life. You'll feel better in a few days. This will happen to almost every woman at some point in her life.

look dont feel bad. its natural. i had the same thing happen to me. if they want to make a big fuss, let them . that just means they are immature. next time make sure to always pack extras, and experiment on products to see which will work best for you, and this pproblem should never happen again.

well, obviously you waited too long to change your napkin, it should be done at minimum every two hours. Suggest that you take this as a learning experience and change your napkin more frequently in the future.

Unfortunately, you'll just have to suck it up, and deal with it. Wear a pad and a tampon on your first day from now on.

**and NEVER use more than tampon at a time!
