I'm in 10th grade, which some may think is too soon to be getting ready for college, but I am. I'm going to start saving a little money out of all my paychecks so I'll be ready when the time comes. (I am SO ready to move out of the house lol)

My only problem is, I keep getting flyers in the mail about all these different colleges, and I don't know how to choose the one that's right for me. I'll probably go to our community college for like a year just to get used to the whole college routine and being away from home and stuff or whatever, but how do I decide where to move on from there?

I want to be a Travel Agent, and it seems like every college I look into has different ideas on the requirements of that job, and my mom doesn't think that it requires very much schooling at all, and I can't keep the facts straight! Help!

Most travel agents, if they have training for it at all, went for two years to a community college for that training. You might want to look on www.collegeboard.com and look at their college matchmaker feature. You can put in your interests and qualifications, and it will tell you which colleges might be appropriate for you.

thats great that you are already thinking about college. You now have plenty of time to save money and chose the perfect college for you. Go and talk to a travel agent and ask them what type of school they recieved. Pick a college you would like to attend, tour colleges, look up the major. Even if you don't need schooling. Go to college for a couple years and pick out a fun major. Maybe you will find a job you like better. Best of luck. Let me know if you have any other questions.

That's great that you are getting ready now! I would first off narrow down the college choices by seeing which programs they offer. Once you get it down to three colleges that have majors that you might want to do, talk to your high school counselor, contact the universities and set up meetings with advisors. You could also narrow down college options by seeing which one would work best for you financially. Maybe you would be able to get a full-ride scholarship from one of the colleges, but only half-tuition from the other. Good luck!!!

It is good that you are starting to save for college now, you are thinking ahead. Make an appointment to talk to your guidance counselor, they can steer you in the right path for which college would be the best to pursue for you to become a travel agent.
