It's unusual & that's why I like it. I just might have to take it. :)

I love it, I don't know why ur family doesn't well the reason they probably don't like it is because the name isn't even probably a name or maybe they've liked other names for a long time too that they've always loved soo maybe you can be a little more reasonable and maybe have Ameris as the middle name and not keep laine (which ever one you like more and then let your husband or who everhelp you pick out the other name.

I don't love the name Ameris, but Liane is kind of nice. You have got to find a name you and your husband both like. Why did you capitalize the first letter of every word? That was kind of strange.

I think that you and your husband should come to an agreement on te name, but it doesnt matter what the families thinks. I think that if you carry her around for 9 months that you have a bigger say in her name but would you want your husband to be mad at you every time he says Ameris Laine. I personally am not to crazy on the name. I like Laine like 20% and i dont even know if i am saying the first name correctly. (Amer (like america) is( not like the word is but kinda like a soft C sound)) So i hope me advice helped and hey... congratulations to you and your husband!!

i think it's okay, but what does your husband think of it? It's okay if the families don't like it;they could give her a nickname,or something. But naming a child should be a 50/50 thing between a husband and a wife, though,so if he hates it,perhaps you should try finding something both of you (and your daughter) can live with. It's about compromise. If he likes it,go for it and let everyone else call her Amy (which would also be an alternative for her, just in case she doesn't like it). Personally, though, i'm more for Amelia Leighanne. Do either of you like that?

I think it is a lovely name. People always tend to shorten names anyway, so she could be called Amy, or Risa, or something for short.
A lot of people do not like their names so I wouldnt worry about trying to please her too much because you will never win! LOL!
At the end of the day, it doesn't stand out as being a weird name, and it is pretty sounding, so it;s not like she will be embarrased by it.
I think you should go with whatever you feel, you'll only regret it if you don't. Its lovely.
Good luck ad congratulations.

Although it's a pretty name -think of the razing she will get in school-amorous Ameris, will be the least of her "nick names".My mom gave me a name that rhymes with marshmallow and i was miserable.Remember the name you pick out will be with her forever.

Amaris is pretty - Hebrew in origin, and it means "promised by God," so a nice meaning, too. Ameris looks misspelled to me.
Liane isn't my style, but Amaris Liane does have a nice flow.

it not a favorite of mine, ive never heard of the name Ameris before. If your worried she'll hate it, pick a more common name, or a name that has many nicknames she can choose from (elizabeth: liz, lizzy, beth) (alexandra: alex, alli, ally, libby, andrea)
wait how do you pronounce Ameris???
