HI,
me and my 2 best friends are having a fair raiseing money for Leukemia [srry i really cant spell!] research and development.

when we say a fair we mean theres going ot be a bunch of diffrent games, music, food, that kind of a thing.

but we need some help on chooseing carnival games for it. We are on a very tight budget of 900$$.. except 100 of this was used to rent out the couminity lake near us and used for someother things so techniaclly we only have 800$.

-me and my friends would like to know your favorite carnival games and how to make them at home without haveing to spend to much money, but we still want everything to look professinal.

any ideas?

thanks!

I've done lots of kids carnivals with lots of games. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you have a good assortment of prizes and enough prizes. The suggestion to go the Oriental Trading Company website was a good one. They have good game ideas and inexpensive items for prizes. Go to
www.orientaltrading.com

I've done a duck pond. You need a small children's wading pool and lots of rubber ducks. On the bottom of each, using a Sharpie, write a number. The number corresponds to a prize. So, you might have lots of ducks with "12" on the bottom which wins a small consolation prize, and only one with "33" on the bottom, which wins a big prize. Fill the pool with water and throw in the ducks. Then each person picks up a duck and wins the prize indicated by the number.

Also, you can make a lollipop tree. Get a large styrofoam cone (shaped like a Christmas tree) and a lot of Tootsie Pops. Paint the bottom of a few Tootsie Pops red. Stick the Tootsie pops all around the Styrofoam. Anyone who pulls out a pop with red on the bottom wins a small prize. Everyone else gets to keep the Tootsie Pop as a consolation prize.

Another easy game to make is a bean bag toss. Make your own bean bags (just fabric sewn in a square and filled with beans) and a board with a hole. Paint something cute on the board and prop it up. Or cut out several holes, each worth a different number, and win prize depending on what hole the bean bag goes into.

Also, you can create some games that use old golf clubs and golf balls. Place a hula hoop on the ground, and anyone who hits a ball into the circle wins a prize. Or make a mini-golf course -- just one hole. A hole-in-one wins a prize.

Then try a penny toss. On a table, set up lots of cheap glasses, plates or bowls set on glasses, or small bowls. Folks try to toss pennies into the the glasses or bowls; if they do, they win a prize.

A dart board with balloons doesn't cost much to set up. Go to the Oriental Trading Company website and check out their carnival games section. Many of the pieces are quite reasonable.
