depends on which side of the equation you're sitting. If it was your citizens, your embassies, your economic assets that were getting bombed, destroyed, beheaded, raped, kidnapped, etc. you'd want some measure of justice no?

As for when has violence "solved" a conflict. World War I & 2 and dozens of other wars come to mind.

We as a species are outwardly aggressive and possessive. We jealously guard what we own as we try to gain more. The USA is just the latest in a long line of empires that have been the MOST powerful of their time.

If you study the History of Mankind, you'd understand you question more.

America isn't aggressive. But every time we try to mind our own business, we get sucker punched. Remember Pearl Harbor and 9/11?

Revolutionary War, Civil War, WW1,WW2, we haven't been the aggressor since we tried to slaughter the Indians.
