I'm a 16 year old girl, yet I'm quite amazed by all this new technology, and frankly, I don't like it.
I hate the music of today. I like 50's, 60's 70's and some 80's music.
Frankie Valli, Dion and the Belmonts, Amazing!
Sabbath, Deep Purple, Dean Martin, etc. All the great stuff.
I hate all the techno ****, and the "rock" of today.
I don't like the look of the cars today, I love 50's and 70's American cars mainly. One of my favorites being the '57 Chevy. The 50's cars were made with detail and made to last.
I don't like that people don't wear hats with suits anymore.
I like the clothes of 50's (men), 60's (both sexes) and 70's (both!)
Just think of the movie A Bronx Tale. Thats where I wanna be.
Sure thats been glamourised and everything but I just think I'd like it better than today.
Kids have no respect for anything anymore. Young people don't know any manners. Wheres 'ladies first' gone? Everything like that!
Everybody needs to be entertained these days!

There's a TV in every room! Kids can't entertain themselves with cards or dice anymore!
Kids are stupid these days. I can see it every year, kids getting dumber. Even a few years ago you could get a witty teenager, a smart kid, but its becoming increasingly rare for some reason....
Its like theres no effort put into anything anymore. Speaking (you got the txt language, no one knows how to spell anymore), Dressing (tracksuit bottoms, etc.), Intelligence, and entertainment. No one needs to do anything anymore.
What is this? Was I an Italian man in New York in a past life, because thats kinda what it feels like. Haha. Also I feel more male than female.
Am I just weird?
Does anyone else have similar thoughts?

How refreshing to read your question. I grew up in the 50's & 60's & as I look back to those days of old, how I wish I could go back to those times. I have so many great memories to reflect upon. They were much simpler times then or maybe it was because I was young & carefree. The music was great, & American Bandstand came into our homes five days a week. We thought the cars were soooo sharp, & so cheap, as compared to now, but still, most every family just had one. There were no cell phones, we had five other people sharing our home phone line, so good luck trying to use the phone or get a call that a person was waiting for wasn't always easy. The women stayed home to take care of the home & raise the children, while the husband went to work each day. We sat around the kitchen table & had our meals together. The tv was not allowed to be on until after the meals. When the tv was turned on, no remotes like today, we kept our fingers crossed that we'd get a channel to come in. Aluminum foil was used to wrap around the rabbit ears, to allow a fairly good reception, until the rooftop antenna was mounted on the roof & we used a little box to change the position of the antenna, from inside. No cable back then.On Sunday, we gathered around the dining room table for dinner, even if we didn't have company. It was a special treat for my sister & I. As a child, I had chores to do & I didn't dare give an excuse for not doing them. My mom taught me how to do the dishes, no dishwashers back then, & my knowledge of how to cook, bake, do laundry, iron, clean house, was a result of my mom teaching me. We went to bed early on Saturday night, so we would be well rested in the morning, as it was time to go to church. Family time was instilled in me in so many ways. People weren't made fun of if they were overweight & we didn't grow up thinking we had to be pencil thin to be attractive. TV viewing was a favorite passtime & was family time well spent. Boy, have times changed huh?

What is your question?
You are nostalgic for the '57 Chevy because it is and always will be an awsome vehicle.
The music you mentioned SHOULD be loved by all....great music is timeless.
A lot of the clothes fashion of thos decades was good, yes. But what you probably don't know is there were a lot of fashion tragedies during those eras as well. The ones which you continue to see were classics and will always be appreciated, even if they aren't currently being worn. They will revive in some form throughout time.
You said you're a 16 year old girl... what's with the Avatar?

I love the 50's. My house is decorated in the 50's retro style. I also love wearing a strand of pearls with everything. If I could I would dress in the 50's attire all the time- give me a great dress any day. Do you like any rockabilly stuff or are you just a classic retro guy? I love both, but tend to lean to the purer stuff. Great question you've asked.
BTW my favorite Doo wop song is "Denise" by Randy and the Rainbows

I'm 48, so I have all those memories of the 60s and 70s, and I can still benefit from today's technology. You know, when I was a kid, I used to have all these wacky ideas for inventions, like internet, gps, and digital photography. And now they're all a reality.

If you haven't gotten into rockabilly, I have a great suggestion. I just picked up a Brian Setzer CD of covers of songs that were released by Sun Records between 1953 and 1957... great music! Early Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, etc.
The title is "Rockabilly Riot Vol. 1: A Tribute to Sun Records".

Yea, I completely comprehend your question!! I rather have nostalgia approximately going back to the 12 months like 20AD and putting with the Christ!! which would be completely freakin cool to be close to the Christ and be all listening to him and coaching me stuff and merely gazing all his cool stuff that he does!! the terrific ingredient to do is be a neighbour innit, go see ya gran, relive the days along with her, take a cd participant and a speaker or some thing and play her some song from her days, would desire to be waiting to get a acquire of a few thing from itunes or google song, youtube or in spite of, it ought to stick a very large smile on her face.

I used to be just like you. I remember staying up late and watching old black & white t.v. shows like "I Love Lucy", "Car 54", "Mr. Ed", etc. I was fortunate enough to have access to them through the Family Channel (now ABC Family) and Nick at Nite and syndication.
But now, I'm not so nostalgic, although I was listening the Glen Miller last week. But as it gets closer to Halloween, my inner goth wants come out and play and maybe watch "The Munsters" and "The Addams Family".
So no, its not just you.

I lived during that period, and I also miss the 'good old days'. I like the technology of today, but I miss the people of yesterday.
