how do you sell the most raffle tickets,candles and sponsors??

I am selling items, raffle tickets, and getting sponsors. I have been runner up 3 times out of the 4 times i've done it i want to get first place this year I have until November 30 Please Answer!!!!!!!!!

Approach everybody you know, and go out every free minute you have.
Have a good story, true but with a lot of reason for people to buy from you.

You must know the trick as you have been runner up several times, just spend much more time doing what you already do, and try to convince the people buying from you (or sponsoring you) that this year they should give you more, or buy twice as many.
