Iwas watching coverage of the Jena 6 march on TV last night and they showed a lot of the video of the marchers and their surroundings. It seems they were all standing around with their coolers having a BBQ and stuff, even laughing and joking, and it got me wondering.
In YOUR opinion what percentage of people were truly their to support the Jena 6 and equal rights? And how many were just along for the free trip, bus ride, BBQ and a free T shirt?

I can't speak for everywhere else but here in Atlanta it was funded by local churches and colleges.

Yep a very big difference between a rope in a tree and a boy beaten till he was unconscious and beyond for what a word if that.
The boy had blindness and a swollen head and still has headaches which of course a doctor can't determine the cause and yet grown people can't understand why they want these poor innocent jena 6 locked up.
If it were me or my kid I'd lock them up and everyone here knows they would too.
Nope I'm not a racist just confused as to why they a white boy getting beaten means nothing while a rope in a tree which hurt no one physically is more imprtant.

This is just plain stupid. Why do people listen to the media that like to exaggerating something and make a profit over it?
This is not racism or discrimination case.
This is just a justice system case and the media likes it so much and blow it out of proportion.
You remember a few weeks ago about a football player, Michael Vicks, and that is just simply animal cruelty case and it's not a racism or discrimination case. You saw that black people walked to protest racism/discrimination and support the animal cruelty by Michael Vicks.
I think black people become so nasty than ever and like to protest over little thing despite the real case that require logical thinking than follow the CRAP out there.
Again, the demo etc is not really about support, it's about eat free foods. People like foods.
America is becoming stupid than ever. Think using your brain and don't listen the CRAP out there.

the whole point is that they showed up to show their support...
if they do not smile, ppl will say that a bunch of angry black ppl showed up to jena..
so why not have a good time on their day off?
"aunt Sera".. there something called "emergency day offs" and "vacations" for ppl that work, you know

I know this may sound racist (which I don't consider myself one) but aren't blacks always out for a free t-shirt and a BBQ. I know some of my black friends would not have gone to the rally if there wasn't free food and a shirt involved. One of my black friend said he wanted to go to be on national TV and get the day off of work.

I imagine most were there to support the six. They just aren;t rude, angry and in your face. Those days are probably gone, thank God. Peaceful, fun activity protests, I like it.

What I'm wondering is how did all those people manage to get time off from their *jobs* to go to Jena.
