It all depends on how your vid was shot and the type of mood you want to convey. Just about any song can work in the right context. Some things to consider when choosing your soundtrack:
- Is your video serious or fun?
- Was it shot on the street, in the park, or in the backcountry? -- What does your video focus on? (Style, technical skills, big airs, hanging out w/ your friends)
- What's the location? Your mountain back home or an exotic location like NZ
- How many different riders? If it's a handful you may want to give each rider a theme...or even let them pick music that matches their style.
You can make just about any kind of music work, my own personal advice would be not fall too early into the obvious choices...like rap, punk, and techno (there's nothing wrong with them)...but try and spend some time experimenting with and thinking about some other styles that would really make the video your own.

Don't listen to these people saying rock because honestly I like rock but it doesn't work with snow sports. Get some reggae or rap thats smooth and not constantly on the radio. You don't want music that's on the radio all the time because you want viewers to focus on the snowboarding and not the music
